I've heard it said an artist should "paint one for the gallery, and paint another for your soul". Well, I guess all my plein airs are for my soul.

For me, this little 5x7 of the valley carries the sense of peace I seek outdoors. Pam and I call this particular place "Deervana" (like Nirvana), as we always see deer in abundance, grazing in the distance. We've never seen another person here, and it feels to us as if we are the only humans who ever come to this place.
